Today we played I have...who has... as our opener for math workshop. Then in small groups, they played time memory where they had to match the analog clock to the digital clock! Tomorrow they will have their assessment on telling time to the hour and half hour.
Wow! Pretty neat! I know this inspired some of your kiddos to do a how to of their own!
My Swedish Chef costume was quite an inspiration! Today we had lots of children make puppets and even put on a play with them! We had builders, drawers/designers, research and flower making going on! It was quite cool to watch and see!
Today we played a fun game called "Seat Scoot". They had to read a digital clock and then write it on an analog clock. I then played the alarm sound (of course made it more fun) on the bullhorn and they had to switch seats. We did that 22 times!! Tomorrow we'll read analog and write digital!
Today our math opener was to help us tell time on an analog clock and read a digital clock. They had a card that had a time with an analog clock. They had to read it, then ask who had another time, that was written digitally!
Today they had to collaborate and organize themselves by the sounds that ed makes: "t", "d" and "ed". We added those to our wall or words to help them during reading and writing workshop!
Since we started working on telling time, I thought it'd be fun to let them announce it if they noticed it was on an hour or a half hour. They have to grab the bullhorn and say: "Attention, it's ________o'clock or ______:30. It's been fun!
