Accountability, Teamwork and Fairness are our basic groundwork for how we are going to act in our room. We have already talked a lot about what it means to be responsible. How we can be responsible by listening, taking care of ourself, cleaning up etc. Especially only worrying about ourselves. :) That's a tough one at this age. If you need a laugh, this is a classic "worry about yourself" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A6Bu96ALOw)! Next week we will read some great books that will lead us in some discussions and talk about teamwork and fairness. We will do some fun activities! For teamwork we are going to race by ourselves and time it and then work as a team to complete the same race and see how much faster we did it as a team! We will do a few activities like that! Some language we will use: I would like other to....so I will...There is a great book called "What if Everybody Did it". It's a great book to start a conversation about being respectful and following rules. You will see some papers going home where they will be writing and drawing about fairness and rules. Our book list will include: Bully by Laura Vaccaro Seeger Do Unto Otters The Worst Best Friend by Alexis O'Neill Henny Penny What if Everybody Did That? We also watched this fun video to help us practice sitting on the carpet! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bMfhlMdbzlE
